Brigitta Kristin Bjarnadottir and Guðrún Inga Helgadóttir withdraw from Miss Universe Iceland 2020

Miss Universe Iceland 2020 is all set to host its coronation night this summer as nineteen stunning beauties will compete for the national crown and the opportunity to represent Iceland in Miss Universe 2020. Miss Universe Iceland 2019 Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

This year’s batch, as revealed on the organization’s social media, boasts of stunning and talented beauties who will give a strong competition to each other. The Miss Universe Iceland organization revealed the names of the nineteen delegates for the competition in the month of February but recently they have announced that Brigitta Kristin Bjarnadottir and Guðrún Inga Helgadóttir have decided to withdraw their application from the competition. The divas have decided to withdraw their application due to some personal reasons.

The organization has also revealed that Miss Universe Iceland 2020 has been rescheduled from May to 21st August 2020 due to the on-going pandemic coronavirus. The organization also stated that since the pageant has been shifted to the month of August, the organization has decided to include two new contenders and two replacement contenders for the competition. The delegates who are now included for the pageant had previously applied for the Miss Universe Iceland 2020 but unfortunately couldn’t make it to the list but now, they have.

Miss Universe Iceland 2020Finalists

 

Last year, Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir represented Iceland at Miss Universe 2019 stage. She was placed at the top 10 at the end of the event finale and was appreciated for her performance on-stage. She advocates against racial discrimination and violence. She has worked for the International Red Cross study aid program in an effort to encourage children's literacy and education abroad.
