Miss Universe Iceland 2020 is all set to host its coronation night on 23rd October 2020 at Keflavik’s Hljómahöll Stapi Center at 20:00 (Iceland Time). The stunning beauties from all over the country will compete for the national crown and an opportunity to represent Iceland in Miss Universe 2020. Miss Universe Iceland 2019 Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The organization will also crown a diva who will represent the country at Miss Supranational 2020.
The organization has also announced that the two delegates; Auðbjo¨rg Helga and Melkorka Sol have decided to withdraw their participation from the competition stating personal reasons.
We’ve selected our top favorites who according to us have the potential to represent Iceland at Miss Universe 2020 stage. Let’s look at the potential candidates;
Dísa Dungal
Disa is 27-years-old and has graduated with a master’s degree in Sports and Health Science. She is currently working in the fitness industry, running her own business as a professional health and fitness expert, yoga teacher and fitness brand model. Disa wishes to raise awareness of gender-based violence against women and promoting family service centres. With her determination, intelligence and such a strong advocacy, Disa is a front-runner for the Miss Universe Iceland 2020 crown.
Heidrun Anna Eyjólfsdóttir
Heidrun is 20-years-old and is very passionate about pageantry along with working for the society. She explained that since she was born in a farm just outside Egilsstaðir and has lived there all her life; she likes to do all kinds of activities such as going out, exercising, and playing football for fun. The diva is strong, confident, and focused towards performing her best at the competition. Heidrun’s role model are her parents and she wants to make them proud. Her dream is to get a job as a guide and obtain a degree in Travel Studies and one day open her own travel guide company and travel the world.
Kamilla Kristrúnardottir Hancock
Kamilla is 20-years-old and was born in Reykjavík. She was 6-years-old when she moved to America and Japan and returned to Iceland in 2015. The diva aspires to become a Film Director/Producer and create movies that help people understand each other’s uniqueness. As someone who grew up different, individuality is very important to her because she believes our differences is what makes everyone beautiful. She was also an exchange student in South Korea and as a well-traveled person, she believes all people deserve to live safely without harm or the burden of being sent back to a dangerous place.
Thelma Líf Heiðarsdóttir
Thelma is 18-years-old and is currently in school who also works at a nursing home and helps at her grandfather’s restaurant. She hopes to one day follow in her grandfather’s footsteps and take over the family business. The diva is fluent in two languages and is also learning Spanish and Thai languages. She aspires to be a business owner and be financially stable to take care of her own family in the future. She is strong, positive, and very determined towards winning the title.
Anna Mist Guðmundsdóttir
Anna is 24-years-old and describes herself as, “I am open, kind-hearted and energetic. I do my best to achieve the goals I set in different areas. As well as always doing my best to treat others as I would like others to treat me.” She wishes to complete her master’s degree and start her own company along with being a positive and impactful role model for other people in her community. She wishes to use the platform for development and growth both as a person and as a strong, independent woman, experience new things and face different challenges.
Jenny Sulollari
Jenny is 26-years-old and describes herself as a positive, passionate, compassionate, honest, and an outgoing person who cares about people. She likes to travel and explore the new cities along with the hidden gems of the Iceland. She believes that a positive body image is important and necessary as well as your personal mental health. Jenny wants to encourage young girls to accept themselves as they are and this advocacy is very close to her heart because she has had to overcome the effects of being bullied as a child and therefore believes strongly in accepting yourself fully and loving every part.
