Explaining the significance, the beauty of the Bird of Paradise or often dubbed the Bird of Paradise is a typical endemic to the land of Papua which inspired to create the National Costume work this year. As Puteri Indonesia Organization took to their social media, they wrote, “Not without reason, this bird got the nickname Bird of Paradise. The beauty and exoticism of the colours, as well as their graceful movements, hypnotizes anyone who sees them. The fur is elongated elegantly from the wings to the tail. Its fine texture and maroon, yellow and white are a beautiful and striking unity in this costume.”

Explaining the significance of the bird, the organization continued, “Her beauty that seemed to be groundless, her steps that never landed on the ground, made all believe that this bird of heaven was true. The fragments of heaven that fell to earth are in Papua, Indonesia. The beating of these beautiful wings is as if inviting us to dance voicing the protection of this bird of paradise which is on the verge of extinction due to excessive natural exploitation and poaching. Let us speak together so that we can hear the melodious whistles of the Bird of Paradise by preserving the preservation of the Indonesian Forest and living the life of the World. Fly back to Paradise, faithfully the Earth waits for you to chat in your lap.”
