Toshami comes from a family of over-achieving beauty queens; she is the cousin of Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh who won the fourth Miss World crown for Jamaica. Following in her sister’s footsteps, Calvin has the personality, beauty and strong communication skills to win the coveted crown for her country as well at Miss Universe.

Toshami earned an associate degree and a master’s degree in health studies from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Her passion to work with children with special needs is personal because she has a sister with special needs. Calvin, thus, currently works as a registered behavioral technician providing therapy for children on the autism spectrum.

Supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, Toshami also played tribute to George Floyd and still does work to support her community. Through her reign, Calvin hopes to use her platform as Miss Universe Jamaica to raise awareness for children with special needs and children with autism. Toshami surely has all the capabilities to win the ‘Force for Good’ Miss Universe crown for her country.
