The Miss Laos organization has chosen the representative who will get to represent Laos at the prestigious pageant of Miss Universe 2018. Just today, On-anong Homsombath was appointed as Miss Universe Laos 2018. She succeeds Miss Universe Laos 2017 Souphaphone Somvichith who was the first ever Miss Universe Laos.
The Miss Laos organization announced the news on their Facebook page. They wrote:
Miss Universe Laos Organization (TVLAO HD) has officially announced to select and appoint On-anong Homsombath to represent Laos in Miss Universe 2018.
On-anong Homsombath, First runner-up Miss Universe Laos 2017, age 23, height 171cm, graduated from Kaposvar University, Hungary 2017, majoring International relations. Worked at Mekong River Commission. During her high school study, she participated in education exchange programs in USA, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia... She has a unique and outstanding beauty, language competency, elegant courtesy and Lao culture to deserve presenting Lao women in Miss Universe 2018.
The Miss Lao organization currently holds several international pageant franchises to send representatives from Laos. Apart from Miss Universe Laos, these include, but are not limited to, Miss Grand Laos, Miss World Laos, and Miss Supranational Laos.
The Miss Universe Laos pageant was started off last year with Miss Universe Laos 2017 Souphaphone Somvichith, who unfortunately could not place at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Thus, On-anong has a chance to pioneer the country’s placement, if not win, at the pageant.
