The beauties got ready at the Sephora Beauty Parlour for one of the most interesting pre-pageant chats with the judges of the beauty pageant. The National Director of the Miss Universe Malaysia organisation, Elaine Daly said that it is important for the girls to show social skills, be charming and presentable, as well as know what to say at the right time..She continued saying, “it’s a test for them.”
 
 
Among the judges who came to interview the beauties were esteemed personalities such as, Cindy Lee, the Country Manager at Sephora Malaysia, Stephane Tay, the General Manager at Shiseidu Malaysia, Rubin Khoo, the Editor-in-chief of Prestige Magazine, Datuk Wira Rahadian Mahmud, the Group Managing Director, Magna Prima Bhd., William KC Kee, Features Editor, The Star; Fannie NG, Communications Manager at the Majestic Hotel KL, Hui Mathews, the Founder of ash be nimble, and Jared Sundram, Cleo Bachelor 2016.
 
The interview was held at the Intermark mall where contestants such as Nicolle Tan, 19, Tammy Singho, 20, Tanalaksiumy, 22, Sonia Naidu, 22, Samantha Katie, 21, Jaspreet Kaur, 23, and Erica Tan, 25, all had fun meeting different people. Soin Michelle, 20, shared that it was fun talking to them and get to know them. She said that it was more of a conversation rather than an interview. Dana Low, 21, explained that she wants to win and believes that all contestants are “in it to win it!.”
 
Stephane Tay shared after the interview that she felt that the girls were impressive and all them were very, very smart beyond just beauty. She continued to say, “they all came with beauty with brains, and they all have really good character as well which really show when we were interviewing them one by one just now.” 
 
Elaine Daly exclaims, “whether or not they are nervous, it’s fine! Nerves are always a good thing, I believe, so I think they’ll do good.” Well, we believe so, too!
