Francesca Mifsud is all set to represent Zejtun in Miss Universe Malta. Francesca is not new to the pageant world. She has a long history to look back as she has participated in several modeling campaigns and beauty pageants. She has earlier competed in Miss Universe Malta 2016, where she was amongst the Top 15 finalists. She was also crowned as Best Model of the World Malta 2016 and won the Best Face award in the international pageant Best Model of the World 2016 held in Istanbul, Turkey. She is proud of her achievements but, this is not all.

She is a sports person with a highly ambitious academic career. Francesca is presently studying for a Law degree at the University of Malta. Francesca is in her 4th year of studies and wishes to pursue her career as civil or a criminal lawyer. She has been playing basketball for more than 12 years and has represented Malta in a number of tournaments as part of the national basketball team. She has won a couple of medals as well.  As her career ended in Basketball, she took on Thai Boxing.

Her passion for modeling started when her aunt was crowned as the 39th Miss Malta, back in 2002. Even though she was only 6 years old at the time, she was hooked onto the glamour and grace that surrounded beauty pageants.

Established in the year 2016, the Miss Universe Malta pageant is organized by Glow Promotions. Before the Miss Universe Malta pageant, the representatives for Miss Universe were selected from the Miss Malta pageant. The event, Miss Universe, consists of more than 90 countries competing for this title. The show's main motive is to empower young women from around the globe, thus adopting the slogan 'Confidently Beautiful'. Miss Universe is licensed under IMG Models and MUO in New York.

The newly crowned Miss Universe Malta 2018 will then represent Malta at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant where Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters will crown her successor.
