The organization of Miss Universe Malta is all set to host the coronation ceremony for Miss Universe Malta 2021 on 17th September 2021, where delegates from all over the country will compete for the national crown and a chance to represent Malta at Miss Universe 2021. The winner will succeed Miss Universe Malta 2020 Anthea Zammit for the title.

The organization recently announced the names of twenty-one delegates who will be competing for the title of Miss Universe Malta 2021. This year’s batch of delegates boasts women who are talented, determined, and focused on performing their best and winning the crown, but some of these divas have stood out as some of the strongest contenders for the title.

So, without any further ado, here are our Top 7 hot picks for Miss Universe Malta 2021 –

Janei Desira

Making it to the Top 3 for the People’s Choice Award, Janei is representing Zejtun at Miss Universe Malta 2021. She is currently studying to become a child care worker and wishes to study furthermore to become a kindergarten teacher. She believes that teaching children is empowering and influence us in a positive way. Her family is her support system and spending time with them is what she longs for and cherishes as whenever she feels like giving up their encouragement keeps her going.

 

 

She feels that the Miss Universe organization eliminates the ideology of beauty because they don’t believe in ‘One size fits all’ thinking. “No matter the race, size and ethnicity, each and every woman has the right to feel beautiful. We must stand together, support and empower each other. You are beautiful and strong. Be happy and kind to those around you. Be the best version of yourself for you. You are confident and can conquer the world with the right mindset,” she added.

Christine Pisani

Representing Xghajra, Christine is a fourth year student at the University of Malta pursuing her second degree which is the master’s in Accountancy. She is also in process of becoming an entrepreneur of a sustainable clothing brand. Having interest for culture appreciation has intrigued her as she speaks four different languages and has visited over 30 different countries over the world, however the Maltese culture remains the closest to her heart.

Being brought up in a family which recognizes the beauty of giving back, she has been contributing to the local community particularly participating in the village feasts. The Miss Universe competition will enable her with a platform to discuss her advocacy against social and racial injustices internationally.

 

 

Jade Cini

Jade Cini from Valletta, is a 26 year-old primary school teacher with a passion for education and travelling. She has been modelling since she was 3 years old. Beauty pageants have given her the confidence required to have a career and enter other fields of dancing, singing and acting. It has also helped her stay resilient when faced with bullying, failures and criticism.

She shared, “Last year I was a victim of domestic violence, but today I’m a proud survivor. I would like to use this platform as a voice for all the women out there suffering in silence and I’d like to tell them to never settle for anything less than they deserve.” Having done several international pageant, including Miss Model of the World 2014, Best Model of the World 2015, Miss Intercontinental 2016 and Top Model of the World 2016, Miss Universe has always been Jade’s dream.

 

 

Michela Galea

Growing up in a family of musicians, ignited a passion for performing arts in Mgarr’s Michela Galea. It has led her into pursuing a career in singing and acting while also graduate from the University of Malta with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Studies. She is also aiming to pursue a master’s degree in the designated field in the near future.

She has made it her mission in life to reach out to children and families through performing arts, which is why she became an educator. “I want to assure women everywhere that it is okay to not be okay, it is okay to cry and it is okay to  be down sometimes, but one thing I have learnt in life is to never stop trying, to never give up and most importantly to never stop believing,” she shared.

 

 

Daniela Scuro

Bugibba’s Daniela Scuro is working in the gaming industry and moved to Malta seven years ago, looking for ways to financially support her family. Being raised in a dysfunctional family, all the pain from her childhood made it very difficult for her to believe that she was made for happiness.

After moving to Malta, she began using the pain to push herself and do better. “Being on my own and finally choosing to believe in myself has told me that no matter what happened in the past, I’m worth it,” she added. Miss Universe Malta 2021 is making her dream come true and she feels that, the only way to making things possible is believing in yourself.

 

 

Kelly Darmanin

Hailing from Zabbar, Kelly has always dreamed of being on stage and modelling. She chose Miss Universe because it is not just a beauty pageant but it gives you a platform where you can speak out on topics you believe in. She has recently learnt to embrace herself in every way.

She believes that as long as you have a dream, you should learn to love yourself, because your flaws make you who you are. She chose to take part in the competition to gain more self-confidence and face her fear of talking to people she doesn’t know.

 

 

Victoria Tanti

Victoria Tanti of St. Paul’s Bay is 20 years-old, currently studying Dental Surgery at the University of Malta. She aspires to graduate and help people by using her knowledge and skill to show the importance of having a healthy mouth, which leads to a healthy body, happiness and a confident smile.

Precision, aesthetic and beauty has always been her point of interest since a young age, which is why she chose dentistry. Tanti strongly believes in working hard to achieve her goals and that failure is part of the process teaching us ways to become stronger. Miss Universe has given her a platform to raise awareness regarding outcomes of the pandemic.

 

 

Miss Universe Malta 2020 Anthea Zammit represented Malta at Miss Universe 2020 held on 16th May 2021 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States. She was highly appreciated for her performance throughout the competition but unfortunately couldn’t make it to the top positions.
