Anshika Sharma yearns to debut Nepal’s win at Miss Universe 2020

The 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020 is all set to be held on 16th May at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The preliminary competition is scheduled to take place on 13th May 2021.

Miss Universe Nepal 2020 Anshika Sharma has been stirring up the pageant world since her crowning as she seems determined, focused, and confident about winning the title for the country. She explained that it’s an honor for her to represent Nepal at Miss Universe 2020 and would like to do that in a true sense. Before winning the opportunity to represent Nepal at Miss Universe 2020, Anshika was working as a sales analyst in Australia who believed in her dreams and manifested in them well enough to make them come true.

 

 

In a recent interview, the diva spoke about how blessed and honored she feels when she realizes that she is going to represent her beloved country at Miss Universe 2020. She describes the moment as “it’s like my dreams come true! Isn’t this a moment of pride for me?”. Anshika is one of the favorites for the title and people across the world believe in her and have showcased their love and support for the queen on social media.

Anshika mentioned that she knew that the journey to the Miss Universe crown requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and focus so, she started her preparations for the competition after she was crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2020 to be fully prepared and ready to perform her best on-stage at Miss Universe 2020. During the interview, the beauty queen hinted a few things about her national costume by mentioning that her team has selected the best designers from Nepal to curate her national costume along with the final gown as the pageant fans in Nepal are known for their very detailed opinions about the beauty queen representing them on an international platform.

The beauty queen launched ‘The Anshika Education Welfare Foundation’ in February 2021 which she explained is close to her heart because of her father. She shared that her father used to visit different parts of the country to ensure and encourage children’s access to education and when he’d come back home, he’d tell her about the students not being able to go to school owing to poverty or some other reasons, some students dropping out due to financial crunch, lack of access to schools, among others.

Listening to all his stories, Anshika realized that education is essential for everyone but especially for the children to uplift themselves and that’s how she started her initiative with a vision of uplifting the status of the children who are deprived of education. She mentioned that she along with a team of enthusiasts has been supporting 10 children who were deprived of education in Khalanga village of Jumla district since 2018 and now with her foundation, she is supporting 14 children from Jhapa as well.

 

 

Discussing the challenges, she had to face after being crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2020 or throughout the competition, Anshika shared that she has been fortunate that she had nothing to worry about because she did not experience any challenges or criticism as everyone was very supportive and accepted her with open arms as their representative. She also mentioned that she is not easily affected by negative criticism which is also why she never faced any challenge. 

The diva who is progressing to be one of the top contenders at Miss Universe 2020, believes that beauty pageants sure give priority to beauty but, beauty is not just about the appearance but also about how one possesses the beauty in their life, their purpose, their story, their experiences, their confidence and positive attitude, and their message on the stage. For her, a beauty pageant is a platform to prove leadership, to empower oneself, and to make a significant impact in society.

With her confidence, positive aura, and strong personality, Miss Universe Nepal 2020 Anshika Sharma is surely emerging as one of the favorites for the title and with her ongoing preparation, she has managed to make a strong impact on everyone and is assured to secure a high position at Miss Universe 2020.
