Miss Universe New Zealand 2018 will hold its grand finale on 4th August 2018 at 7:00 PM NZST (GMT+12). Twenty finalists will compete for the national title and the opportunity to represent New Zealand at Miss Universe 2018.
The reigning Miss Universe New Zealand is Harlem-Cruz Atarangi Ihaia who represented New Zealand at Miss Universe 2017 but unfortunately failed to get placed at the competition.

New Zealand has won the coveted Miss Universe crown once as Lorraine Downes was crowned Miss Universe in 1983. After that, every delegate of New Zealand who has represented at Miss Universe has remained unplaced in the finale (except for the year 1992 when Lisa Maree de Montalk placed in the Top 10).
