Newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters has always been known for her quick answers and honest opinions. She came into notice when she stepped on the stage with confidence and unmatched poise and rest is all history. This time, she is in news for her remark on Mocha Uson’s Appointment as PCCO's Assistant Secretary. The appointment of Mocha Uson as PCCO’s Assistant Secretary has gathered a lot of hype and a lot of things have been said.

Rachel Peters took this issue very politely and with great regard. On asking her views on the latest news she said, “Well, she hasn’t started yet. And so, I believe everyone should be given a chance. You cannot judge a book by its cover, (That is) something my parents taught me that is still in my mind.” That is how she reacted on the whole matter and presented herself as the true beauty queen.

On the other hand, newly crowned Miss International Philippines 2017 Mariel De Leon faced criticism on her remark on Uson’s appointment. She said, “Biased and disrespectful. She insults those who are against her.”

“There are so many other unbiased, educated, and respected (and respectful) people who deserve her place.” Uson took to Facebook on Thursday to respond to De Leon, and wrote, “Sorry, Ms. Philippines. I'll take note of your tweets and do well for the country and for you.”

Mariel then responded to Mocha through a tweet, saying: “It proves that we can accept each other's opinions and differences and still let peace, democracy, and love for country prevail. It is done.” Her tweet has since been deleted.

Recently, Rachel Peters received a grand homecoming parade on reaching back to her home place Camarines Sur. Fans welcomed the beauty with so much warmth and love, upon arrival. She toured around the streets of Camerines Sur as she waved at her fans and the media present there to cover the homecoming.
