Mariel Joyce Pascua has become the official representative of General Santos City for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 after she was confirmed at the red-carpet presentation held on 14th February 2020 in Manila. The first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 is all set to host its coronation on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila. Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados will crown her successor at the end of the finale.
Mariel hails from General Santos City and is currently living in the Cebu city. The newbie is going to compete for the very first time in a beauty pageant and she is very excited to start-off her new pace as representative at Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
The diva also posted a picture with which she captioned, “It has always been my dream to be part of this prestigious beauty pageant and yes, I finally made it. But I’m sure that this is just the beginning of my journey and I couldn’t do it without everyone's overwhelming support. I know that I still have lots to improve and I promise to give my all to represent our city with pride and honour. Thank you to our dearest God and of course, for everyone who watched the press presentation. You may not be present in the event yet I felt that your spirits made me even more confident! I’m so grateful and honoured to represent GENERAL SANTOS CITY. Once again in the biggest stage of the Philippine Pageantry, not just myself, but the entire Generals and the people who believe in me. The Miss Universe franchise in the Philippines, previously held by Binibining Pilipinas, was granted to Miss Universe Philippines organization which is headed by national director Shamcey Supsup-Lee.
