With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila.

Maria Regina Malana has become the official representative of Isabela for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 after she was confirmed at the red-carpet presentation held in Manila. Maria is a doctor of Dental Medicine by profession who has earned her degree from University of the East-Manila. She also works as a hosts and model.

Maria has always wanted to be a beauty queen and help others in terms of health care. She is new to the pageantry world but has been on stage as she has hosted shows and events for her college as well as local pageants. She participated in Miss Dentistry 2015 when she was still in college and that inspired her to apply for national pageant but she wanted to complete her education first.

Maria is very sorted and composed human and is very clear about her intentions about winning the title and earning the opportunity to represent Philippines at Miss Universe2020. She has always been optimistic and determined towards her goals and works very hard for achieving them. She has expressed her gratitude towards her family and friends for being her rock and pushing her beyond her limits.

Maria is excited and blessed that she has been selected to represent Isabela at Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and would give her best during the competition. She has started to work on her on-stage walk, body postures, angels, speech and interview skills that are essential for the competition. Her confidence and determination are commendable and she would use the platform of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 to advocate about Dentistry and its importance to people.

Maria believes in the motto, “To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders” and is preparing her best for the competition. She is confident and hardworking and can be a tough competition for the contestants at Miss Universe Philippines 2020.

Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados will crown her successor by the end of the event finale. The pageant aims to encourage Filipina women to become empowered individuals, who also embody the mission of being agents of meaningful change wherever they are. It trains participants to become role models, pursuing personal and professional goals, while also leaving and inspiring positive impact in society.
