With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines, i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020, will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila.
Miss Universe Philippines organization has officially revealed their city’s representatives who will be vying for the national title. This is the first time that the national pageant is going to take place with strong delegation, as most of these divas are well experienced and well-versed with the pageantry.
While 52 delegates are competing for the national title, we have picked out our favorites who we think can be a strong competition this year. The competition began a few weeks ago as contestants have begun to give their best for the title. While first hot picks included the beauties, who have the best first impression, here are our 2nd hot picks for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 –
Skelly Ivy Florida is a delegate of Biliran in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She is 20-years-old and stands 167cm tall. She is a student of Tourism Management at the Biliran Province State University. She is passionate about modeling and volleyball. She participated and won the title of Miss Naval State University and Miss PASUC in 2017. The diva sure is well-experienced after being given chances to compete in the pageants. She is referred to as Black Barbie Doll because her features are very similar to that of a barbie doll. She is determined, hard-working and patient when it comes to what she wants. She chases her dreams, but with patience as she believes that whatever will be hers, will come to her. Since, she plays volleyball at a professional level, she is well-aware about how to work in a team and Miss Universe Philippines 2020 competition is where her abilities to stay calm, composed will help her.
Krizzia Lynn Moreno is a delegate of Camarines Sur in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She is 24-years-old and stands 175cm tall with a degree in Travel Management from University of Santo Tomas. She works as flight attendant in Cebu Pacific along with modelling. She is not new to the field as she has previously participated in Miss Earth Philippines 2019 but unfortunately wasn’t placed but she was much appreciated by everyone during competition for her confidence and opinions. Krizzia is an articulate speaker, especially when her course thrives in social relations and public delivery of travel and tourism-related advisories. She believes that if we raise awareness regarding certain issues concerning our environment, make the people aware, and encourage them to act, we will have people who care for the earth because the earth, in turn, cares for us. With such strong headed opinion and confidence, Krizzia can be a potential winner at the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 competition.
Noreen Mangawit is a delegate of Kalinga in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She is 21-years-old and is a political science student from The University of Philippines. Being a political science student, she holds a keen interest in economics and is also a part of many social firms at such a young age. She works against the violations of human rights with her team of more than 20 people. She also was a participant of PAKASARITAAN 2017, The Philippine Federal Project with the Motto 'Building and Breaking Boundaries'. She is fond of traveling and often keeps exploring places around Philippines. Noreen is a jolly, cheerful and beautiful girl with an enchanting personality and a captivating smile. She aspires to work for the welfare of human rights and wants to make the world a better place to live. With her witty humor and confident opinions, Noreen is one of the fan’s favorite can be a front-runner at winning the competition.
Alexandra Abdon is a delegate of Manila in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She is 25-years-old and stand 170cm tall. She has been active since 2015 making her debut through Miss Global Philippines 2015. She also participated in Miss Earth Philippines 2016 and Mutya NG Philippines 2018. She was unable to win the crown in both competitions but didn't lose confidence. Instead, she worked on polishing herself and is back on the field with high determination and confidence to win and eventually represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020. The diva strongly believes that one’s personality is the reflection of what we think and our belief -system largely impacts our lifestyle. Being a fitness freak, Alex never really skips her exercise regime and is strict with her diet. Being an experienced model, Abdon can be a tough competition this year and her aspiration to win the title may come true.
Perlyn Cayona is a delegate of Zamboanga del Sur in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She competed in the regionals of Binibining Dumingag 2019 and won the pageant, which escalated her to Binibining Zamboanga Del Sur in year 2019 only and there also the diva took the crown home. Perlyn looks up to Gazini Ganados’ performance at the Miss universe 2019 stage; as she feels inspired and follows every step of the queen. She is an amazing personality who is a lover of nature and knows how to take care of her environment with her efforts. She will leave a noteworthy mark in the competition. With her strong personality, confidence and being inspired by Gazini, Perlyn can emerge as a front-runner during the competition.
Carissa Rozil is a delegate of Surigao del Norte in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She is 19-years-old and is studying Humanities and Social Science from Surigao State College of Technology. She is not new to the pageantry and has been a part and winner of Binibining Tourism Dapa 2018. She later participated in Panaghiusa Festival Queen 2019 and was crowned as the first runner-up. This is her first national pageant and she is very excited and humbled to be a part of such prestigious beauty pageant. Carissa believes in the motto " A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step " and works hard to be the best in whatever she does. She is hardworking, determined and focused towards winning the pageant and earning her opportunity to represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020 stage.
Ericka Evangelista is a delegate of Rizal in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. Ericka is pursuing her dream to be a fashion designer and has finished her Fashion Designing Degree from “Slims Fashion and Art School”. She has been equipped with skills and knowledge required to translate the style in her imagination in her work. Ericka’s determination and hard work is the reason she is the CEO of her own clothing line Designs by Ericka Evangelist which specialized in custom-made pieces. Ericka was an Integrated Marketing Student in University of Asia and the Pacific and a Key Accounts Manager in one of the reputable brands in the country but, her passion and dream to style herself for to her prom and then aspiring to wear her own brand one day is the reason she has her own clothing brand. She has faced some criticisms while growing up but none of the criticism has ever stopped the diva from following her dream.
Adee Hitomi Akiyama is a delegate of Oriental Mindoro in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She is a Fil-Japanese beauty who finished her pre-med course recently at the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute where she reigned as the university’s loveliest student. Later in the year, she is set to graduate from the university as a Doctor of Medicine. She can be a tough competition for the title, even though she is new to the pageantry world, she is quick at learning skills and techniques which can help her win the title and represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020. She is an example of Filipino woman who chooses to go beyond being ‘captivating’ into the more meaningful realm of being ‘empowering’. She wants to use the platform to empower young women as well as raise awareness about education among people. She has amazing interview skills that will help her during the question and answer round of the competition.
Caroline Joy Veronilla is a delegate of Misamis Oriental in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She has completed her studies from Xavier University. She is now a Donor Education Specialist at World Vision Philippines. The beauty has an amazing and a unique personality which outshines her the most. Carolina is a kind hearted beauty. She is very connected to her environment and nature and tries to keep it in check that she must take care of it even though other people don’t. She is no new to the pageantry world as she earlier competed in Miss Cagayan de Oro in year 2015, which she eventually won. She performed in the pageant with grace and eloquence and gave her best. The diva will leave her noteworthy mark in the competition. She has beautiful features and her smile is captivating which can win many hearts during the competition.
Trizha Ocampo hails from Baguio City, is a delegate of La Union in Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She is 26-years-old and graduate from the University of Baguio. She wants to win the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 to fulfill her mother’s dream of seeing her representing Philippines at the stage of Miss Universe. The diva wants to work for the underprivileged kids and her love and affection towards kids can be seen in her deeds. Trizha is fond of fashion and makeup as she believes that makeup and fashion give her the confidence and happiness she needs. She also has her YouTube channel where she reviews various brands and creates stunning make-up looks. She is experienced in the field of pageantry as she has previously won Miss Mutia Ti La Union 2016 and Miss Baguio 2018. With her confidence and determination towards winning, she can emerge as one of the strongest contenders for the title.
