17 Feb 2020 | Priya Bhardwaj

With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila.

We'am Ahmed has become the official representative of Davao del Norte for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 after she was confirmed at the red-carpet presentation held in Manila. We’am is 20-years-old and is a Filipina-Egyptian born beauty. She works as a professional model.

We’am is not new to the pageantry world as she was a part of Miss Earth Philippines 2018 where she was placed at Top 18. She is an advocate of plastic ban as she believes that use of plastic has caused too much damage to mother earth and she wants to try her best to raise awareness of stop using it.

We’am is very attached to her city and feels extremely blessed that she has been given the opportunity to represent Davao del Norte at Miss Universe Philippines 2020 platform. She takes pride in talking about her city and describes it as one of the most popular Asian cities which is a home to many beautiful beaches and natural destinations. She preaches the slogan of “Reuse, Reduce and Respect”. She is fond of nature and usually plans adventurous trips to whoever possible.

We’am is very confident that she has the skills and abilities to win the title of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020. She just doesn’t want to be a mere representative of the country but would like to be a role model for people who took actions and made things done to help the nature. She urges the youth of the country to come together as a whole and do small deeds for mother earth.

We’am is a very strong contender for the title as she has the experience in the world of fashion and pageantry and has a very balanced and modest heart with a strong stage presence. She has started to prepare for the competition and working hard on her on-stage walk and speech to ace the competition. She believes that if she gets to win the title, she’d try to do as much as she can for the nature and save environment. Her strong opinions can help her during the competition and mark her place in the pageant.

Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados will crown her successor by the end of the event finale. The pageant aims to encourage Filipina women to become empowered individuals, who also embody the mission of being agents of meaningful change wherever they are. It trains participants to become role models, pursuing personal and professional goals, while also leaving and inspiring positive impact in society.
