The Miss Universe Philippines organization is all set to host the coronation ceremony for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 on 25th September 2021. After a series of virtual challenges, the organization has announced Top 75 delegates, shortlisted out of the 100 official candidates, who have moved a step closer to winning the coveted crown.
One of the Top 75 delegates and a rising star at Miss Universe Philippines this year is Simone Nadine Bornilla. The diva took up to her social media to come out as an LGBTQ+ ally in a recent post as she wrote, “I was raised by two gay men and I can proudly say that I am nurtured with unconditional love and support. I am your LGBTQ+ ally in the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 stage.”
Former Miss Philippine Youth Simone Nadine Bornilla is ecstatic after she was named as one of the Top 75 delegates for the competition and progressed one step forward towards the coveted crown. 18 years-old Simone is one of the youngest delegate in this year’s edition. Hailing from the town of Mogpog will carry the sash for Marinduque in the pageant.
After the announcement of being one of the official delegates, Simone took to her social media to share her pride and excitement to represent the province and thanked her supporters. “Though it may seem like a long shot, I’ll do my best to give pride to you, Marinduque,” she mentioned.
Simone has been emerging as a strong contender even though being one of the youngest amongst the batch. She is not new to pageantry as she has already competed in Miss Philippine Youth 2018 where she eventually won the title and proceeded to be Miss Teen International 2018 and won the continental title of Miss Teen International – Asia and Oceania, at the end of the event.
Simone’s coming out as an ally to the queer community is another strong step taken by the queen and will definitely act as a booster for her presence in the pageant. She is strong, hardworking and determined to make her people and her province proud and is rising towards the coveted crown in full swing.
