After Philippines’ successful stint at Miss Universe 2020 with Rabiya Mateo, the Miss Universe Philippines organization has begun the search for the new queen to represent the country at the upcoming 70th Miss Universe to be held in Costa Rica later this year. The organization will soon host the coronation for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 where delegates from all over the country will participate and compete for the national crown.

Ever since the 69th Miss Universe concluded, names for potential candidates have been circling around for the national title. A recent entry into the round of rumours and wishlists is made by Maureen Wroblewitz, a 22-year old Filipino-German model who is best known for winning the fifth season of Asia's Next Top Model. She represented the Philippines in the competition, and became the first Filipina to win.

Maureen’s path towards the national pageant this year was tracked by the pageant lovers and she was recently signed under a contract by the very popular Star Magic talent agency, as an artist and spotted during the first screening of Aces and Queens for Miss Universe Philippines 2021.

The candidates selected from the screening will be the official flag-bearer of the camp in the competition. Camp Head Sir Gerry Diaz, in a statement, mentioned that 12 girls have been chosen as A&Q bets for Miss Universe Philippines 2021. Out of 240 applications, 30 were called for the face to face screening today.

After becoming the first representative from the Philippines to win Asia’s Next Top Model in 2017, Maureen has appeared on many Filipino shows and became the ambassador of big brands like Asus and Palmolive. She is also an ambassador for the ICanServe Foundation, which helps cancer survivors.

Maureen has been a fan favourite for the title for a long time now. With her stunning features and an experienced timeline of modelling, she can prove to be a strong contender for the title and an ideal choice to fill in as Rabiya’s successor for Philippines at Miss Universe 2021.
