The 2nd edition of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 was held on 30th September 2021 at the Henann Resort Convention Center, Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol, where Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 by the outgoing queen Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo.

This year’s production of the national pageant with a stunning set full of sparkles, amazing performances and glamorous divas. The competition was successfully held in Bohol after being postponed for five days. The organization had announced a new format for the 2021 edition; 100 delegates were initially chosen who underwent different challenges where they were reduced to 75, then 50, and then 30. The 30 remaining delegates competed live and in-person for the coronation night but two contestants withdrew due to covid-19.

The show kicked off as the stunning 28 delegates opened up with a stellar performance in pretty pink dresses and the outgoing queen, Rabiya Mateo accompanying them on the stage. The grand coronation night was hosted by KC Montero and other performers included, Sam Concepcion, who left everyone dancing and swaying their feet during the swimsuit round and Michael Pangilinan, serenading the finalists in their final evening gown showcase.

The most awaited night was bestowed by the panel of esteemed jury which included, Joanne Golong-Gomez, Commercial Director of Hilton Manila, Sam Verzosa, CEO and Co-Founder of FRONTROW Philippines, Dr. Vicki Belo, Founder and Medical Director of The Belo Medical Group, Jojie Lloren, Former President of the Young Designers Guild and The Fashion and Design Council of the Philippines and Sheila Romero, Vice Chairman of Air Asia Philippines.

The competition then followed the announcement of the Top 16 contestants who paraded the ramp in their shimmering evening gowns, looking like goddesses, followed by a casual question answer segment with the host. The Top 10 finalists were then announced as the winners of special awards, two of which were won by Cebu City’s Beatrice Luigi Gomez for the Best in Evening Gown and Best in Swimsuit titles and Mandaluyong’s Maria Corazon Abalos won the Best in National Costume award.

The competition then moved ahead with the final walk of the outgoing queen as the organization bid her farewell for her amazing, inspiring and successful reign, followed by the announcement of the Top 5 court of Miss Universe Philippines 2021. The outgoing court joined the Top 5 finalists on stage after the nerve-wrecking yet enlightening final round of questions which were selected by the divas randomly.

At the end of the finale, Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City was crowned as the new queen, winning the opportunity to represent Philippines at the 70th Miss Universe pageant. The organization had also a few days back, announced two new titles which were,Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2021 won by Katrina Dimaranan of Taguig and Miss Universe Philippines Charity 2021 won by Victoria Vincent Velasquez  of Cavite. Pangasinan’s Maureen Wroblewitz and Cebu Province’s Steffi Aberasturi were adjudged as the first and second runner-ups respectively.

All in all, Miss Universe Philippines 2021 was a successful show with one of the most amazing and stunning batch of queens, who were all inspirational and phenomenal women who are determined, strong and ready to inspire women all over the world. We wish our heartiest congratulations to the newly crowned queen, her courtship and all the other contestants for an amazing experience.
