With the announcement of the 70th edition of Miss Universe happening within this year itself, the organizations of countries from all over the world are gearing up to elect their representatives for Miss Universe 2021 and the names of some of the most potential beauty queens are emerging ever since the 69th edition concluded this year.
Rabiya Mateo recently represented Philippines at Miss Universe 2020 where although she couldn’t make it past the Top 21 she gained a lot of fans and followers from across the globe coming out as one of the most loved and favorite contestants of the year making her country ever so proud. Now, as the search for Miss Universe Philippines 2021 has begun, Alaiza Flor Malinao is a name that has been appearing for the titles as a strong contender.
Alaiza is 26-years-old and stands 175cm tall and is a Psychology graduate and now works as a professional model who walked in various fashion shows. Alaiza is an advocate of mental wellness awareness and is appointed as ambassador for Flourish Circle by Love Yourself organization. It is a community-driven initiative that utilizes peer support to facilitate resilience and wellness to those experiencing thoughts and feelings related to depression, anxiety and suicide
Alaiza is not new to the pageantry world as she participated in Binibining Pilipinas 2015 and later was seen at Asia’s Next Top Model Season 4 where she represented Philippines. But unfortunately, she was bowed out of the regional modelling search and lost in Elite Model Look Asia. Even though, she couldn’t win the pageants, her zeal or desire to represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020 brought her back to the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 stage where she emerged as one of the favorites but failed to place herself at the top.
Alaiza was one of the standouts at Miss Universe Philippines 2020 as her evening gown is one of the most recalled outfits till now. Alaiza Malinao's very famous shapely ‘liquid gold’ dress, KInnari Vessel, by a 20-year-old Filipino fashion designer Jude Macasinag was made of an aluminum metal material, which was sewn 90% by hand. The dress took over 500 hours to perfect it and make it as iconic.
Alaiza has immense ferocity and confidence with which she carries herself. She herself has shown tremendous capability to win a crown and represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020 and the Filipino fans have been expecting the same from her this year as well.
Alaiza is a determined individual who has honed her skills through the years to become the successful model she is in Philippines today. She knows her stances, has worked on her walk and learnt to talk with eloquence becoming the perfect amalgamation to become a beauty queen. She is a strong contestant for the title.
