Miss Universe Philippines 2023, the 4th edition of the national competition, was held on 13th May 2023 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines where Michelle Marquez Dee of Makati was crowned as the new winner. Michelle succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi as she became the official representative of Philippines at Miss Universe 2023.
With a roar of cheer and applause, Michelle Daniela Dee walked towards her fate tonight. Winning the Best in Evening Gown award and stunning everyone with her confident walk and strong oratory skills, Michelle was one of the strongest contenders at the pageant this year. Her experience in the pageantry only helped her advocate more strongly for her cause.
The newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee’s court included –
1st Runner-Up – Christine Juliane Opiaza representing Zambales
2nd Runner-Up — Mary Angelique Manto representing Pampanga
Top 5 also included Baguio’s Krishnah Marie Gravidez and Bohol’s Pauline Amelinckx. These beauties will be awarded one of these two titles – Miss Universe Tourism 2023 and Miss Tourism Charity 2023.
Top 18 also included Agusan del Norte’s Jannarie Zarzoso, Bacolod’s Jan Marie Bordon, Bulacan’s Princess Anne Marcos, Cavite’s Samantha Alexandra Panlili, Cebu Province’s Emmanuelle Fabienne Camcam, Davao Oriental’s Klyza Castro, Eastern Samar’s Airissh Ramos, Isabela’s Kimberlyn Jane Acob, Mandaluyong’s Iman Franchesca Cristal, Marinduque’s Christine Joyce Salcedo, Parañaque’s Clarielle Dacanay, Sorsogon’s Rein Hillary Carrascal and Quezon’s Christiana Afia Yeboah.
The following awards were presented at the coronation night – Best in Evening Gown was awarded to Michelle Daniela Dee, Best in Swimsuit was awarded to Krishnah Marie Gravidez, Face of Social Media went to Jannarie Zarzoso and Miss Congeniality was awarded to Shayne Glenmae Maquiran.
Also present at the finale was Miss Universe 2022 Rbonney Gabriel who sashed Michelle after her win. She also went on to the stage and talk about her experience in Philippines and what the true essence of being a woman means to her. Zozibini Tunzi Miss Universe 2019 was also one of the hosts of the evening and announced the winner. Other presenters included Alden Richards, Xian Lim, Tim Yap and Maureen Montagne.
