The much awaited beauty pageant of Indonesia; Puteri Indonesia 2016 has kicked off with the contest, and is on the road to the finale. This year is going to be the 20th edition of the pageant and the reigning queen, Anindya Kusuma Putri will pass on her crown to her successor.
There are a total of 39 contestants representing 34 provinces of Indonesia. Like every year, this year too will be exciting with beauties from all around Indonesia gracing the finals and putting forward their best foot to win the coveted title. However, another special treat to the eyes at the finals will be the presence of reigning Miss Universe and Miss International.

Yes, well you heard that right, the finals of Puteri Indonesia 2016 will be graced by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss International 2015 Edymar Martinez. This will be the first time that the two gorgeous beauties will be sharing the same stage that too on such a grand event. The winner will represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2016, while the runner-ups will compete at the Miss International 2016 and Miss Supranational 2016.

Puteri Indonesia (meaning “Princess of Indonesia”), also known as Miss Universe Indonesia, is the beauty pageant in Indonesia, that selects and sends the winner for the Miss Universe international pageant. The Puteri Indonesia pageant was established in 1992 and is considered the oldest pageant in Indonesia.
