Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 will be the 66th edition of the Miss Universe Puerto Rico beauty pageant. Michelle Colón of Loíza will crown her successor at the end of the event. The winner will represent Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2022.

While the delegates have been giving their best performances to maintain a strong foothold at the national competition, there is one delegate who has already made it to all the hot picks list for Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 crown. Ashley Ann Cariño is 28 years of age and stands a whopping 173 cm tall.

Ashley is a psychosocial rehabilitator, model, and beauty queen who is of Puerto Rican descent. She is an Aerospace Engineer by profession and also an advocate for women in STEM. She studied aerospace engineering at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida.

Cariño competed in her first beauty pageant against 70 other ladies at the Miss Florida USA 2021 pageant at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Coral Springs and won. She went on to represent Florida at Miss USA 2021 and placed as the second runner-up.

Ashley, on participating in Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022, has realized how pageantry has changed her life. “From the workshops, the life stories of my fellow contestants, and the opportunity to interact with my people, they have helped me to know myself better, to understand where I come from and to visualize where I am going. I thank each person who has taken of their time to give me advice and help me grow and develop self-confidence”, she quoted.

Ashley believes that beauty pageants have opened various opportunities for women to work on themselves along with working for society, and she is honored to be a part of the competition. With her tenacious personality, her stellar beauty and strong advocacy, Ashley is definitely a strong contender for the crown.
