The organization of Miss Universe Thailand held the first press conference for Miss Universe Thailand 2020 with major changes to the pageant keeping in mind the situation of covid-19 pandemic. The coronation ceremony will be held on 10th October 2020 and Miss Universe Thailand 2019 Paweensuda Drouin will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
With the list of delegates coming in for the beauty competition, the organization will announce the 100 potential candidates and select Top 30 who will move forward in the competition and compete for the national title and an opportunity to represent Thailand at Miss Universe 2020 stage. Emmy Kym Sawyer is one of the delegates who has confirmed her participation for Miss Universe Thailand 2020. She is 19-years-old, stands 173 cm tall and is of Thai-British descendant. She is excited to be a part of Miss Universe stage and is hoping to perform her best at the competition in order to move a step ahead in the competition.
Emmy is not new to pageantry as she was the second runner-up at Miss Teen Thailand 2016 and is a former contestant of The Face Thailand SS5. She has expressed that her stint at The Face Thailand, was an honorable one as she learned a lot of things related to beauty pageants and experienced things that she will always cherish. She has walked on-stage for designers and brands in Thailand which has helped her to gain experience as well as intensive knowledge about beauty pageants. She has always been grateful for the opportunities that have come along her way and expressed that beautifully.
After her stint at The Face Thailand SS5, she mentioned, “I am so honored to have got to know and work with such incredibly beautiful and talented women, and I want to thank you for all the valuable lessons you have taught me and for. helping me believe in myself and my abilities.” In her video that was released on YouTube where the organization has been talking to each delegate, Emmy has emerged out as one of the strongest delegates. She had mentioned that there are a lot of global issues going around in the world which needs action but as a representative of Thailand, she’d like to focus on issues in Thailand and bring in the change. She spoke about Mental Health Awareness and Body Image Awareness is the top priority right now in the country as they don’t have as much focus it should have.
What stood out in the talks with Emmy was the fact that she wants to focus on using her platform to bridge the gap between the older generation and the younger generation with the usage of technology keeping mental health and body positivity in mind. She had mentioned that majority of the people focus on the youth generation, but the older generation needs the attention too. Through her talks and walk, she appears to be ready to take the crown home if she gets selected for the further round.
She had mentioned that “The thing that you have to adjust is that you want to bring out your brightness as much as possible. Because here will make you different and outstanding. Talking matters that may need to be more solid in tone Let's be one more encouragement for you to get the farthest in this contest.” She is very well spoken and a strong candidate who could be the next representative of Thailand at Miss Universe 2020 stage.
Emmy is a passionate woman, who has dreams and aspirations and is well assured on how to achieve them. The queen has never stopped herself by putting a hold onto her dreams, she always thrives to fly high with her dreams. Her experience at beauty pageants and modelling assignments will surly help her at the competition.
