According to the sources, Miss Universe Organization reportedly sent an email to national directors containing a directive on 70th pageant edition. The email said that the 70th edition of the annual pageant will be held in December 2021, with a possible venue outside of the United States. National directors were advised to select their representatives by October 31, 2021. The NDs have the option to either appoint or hold a national competition for the 70th Miss Universe.
Vena Praveenar Singh is one of the most potential names going around to represent Thailand at the 70th Miss Universe as she was crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2020 first runner up under the court of Amanda Obdam, Miss Universe Thailand 2020.
Vena is 22 years of age and stands 178 cm tall. She is a graduate in Liberal Arts from Thammasat University. From Chiang Mai, she is a Thai citizen of Indian descent and is fluent in speaking three languages, i.e. English, Russian, and Thai. Being a polyglot she can reach out to more people and share her thoughts, feelings and most important her advocacies.
She believes that beauty pageants aren’t just about beauty anymore as they provide a platform to women to showcase their talent, talk about their advocacies and become confident. She has been an advocate for girls who struggle with self-doubt. She wants to change the mindset of the people by advocating people about the effects of bullying. She also wants to work towards the empowerment of women.
Not new to the pageant world, she had participated in Miss Universe Thailand 2018 competition where she was one of the most talked about contestant. Her charm and beauty attracted thousands of people and she was a tough contender for the title. Veena unfortunately failed to win the crown but was adjudged as the second runner-up. Veena also has experience in catwalk and is a professional model.
Vena’s charming personality, dedication towards winning and attractive features can work in favour for her during the Miss Universe competition. She has a poised walk and can bewilder anyone with her smile. She is quick and witty with her answers and since she has already been in that position, it would give her an edge over all the other divas present there. She is kind-hearted and humble and can be a strong contender to represent Thailand at the 70th Miss Universe.
With this new development, the 69th Miss Universe winner will hold the shortest reign in the pageant's history — enjoying the title for a maximum of seven months only! To date, the longest reign on record belongs to current winner Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa, who will be passing the crown to the next winner after one year and five months on 16th May, 2021 in Hollywood, Florida.
