02 Jan 2019 | Irina Silva

The crowning of Sthefany Gutierréz as Miss Venezuela Universe 2017 can safely be said as the country’s best decision, as there could not have been a better beauty queen to represent Venezuela in such a prestigious and well-known beauty pageant as Miss Universe. Sthefany brought out the best of her beloved country on stage; she won many hearts and a lot of respect due to her diligence and beauty.

At just 19 years of age, Sthefany managed to dazzle during the finale of Miss Universe 2018, held on 17th December 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. Her performance at the finale was no less than that of a winner and added to that, she retained the position of her nation as the dominating entity in Miss Universe by being adjudged the 2nd runner-up to Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. Sthefany was very close to winning the title, but she had already earned the winning title in Venezuela.

Sthefany was crowned Miss Venezuela Universo 2017 and therefore became the representative of Venezuela in Miss Universe 2018. She earned the title during the finale of Miss Venezuela 2017 when she won the national title. Apart from her credibility, the Venezuelan beauty is also known for her extremely long locks that compliment her curvy body perfectly. Even during the finale of Miss Universe this year, Sthefany decided to keep her hair open, embellishing her beauty manifolds.

The young beauty queen’s credibility doesn’t end here as Sthefany is the perfect combination of beauty with brains. She is a law student and will be completing her degree in less than a year. Sthefany has been brought up in a household filled with working women which helped her carve out her individuality and add to her strengths. She was never set back by the demands and conditioning of the society.

It was not surprising when the nation’s name came up in the Top 5 in Miss Universe 2018 as Venezuela holds the second most number of this coveted title since its participation in the pageant, the first one being the United States. The last time Venezuela won the international title was in the year 2013 when Gabriela Isler was crowned Miss Universe 2013. Even in the year 2017, Keysi Sayago, who represented Venezuela in Miss Universe 2017, was able to secure a spot amongst the Top 5 during the finale.
