The cake is rich in taste and colour and is a speciality of the city, set on the southern bank of the Hau River, also known for its canal network and nearby floating markets. The dish is cooked on Tet holiday, the spring festival of the country. To give the cake its rich purple colour, rice is soaked in purple water extracted from the leaves of magenta plant.

The beautiful ensemble is conceptualised by the art director, Tun Nguyen in collaboration with the very talented Vietnamese designer Khoa Li. The queen had her styling done by Tran Ðit and makeup by Quan Nguyen.

The 26-year-old is a Business Administration graduate from Stamford Raffles University, Singapore.
