Vietnam has sent few of the most remarkable delegates to Miss Universe stage who have not only performed well at the competition but also managed to secure top positions and make their country proud. Keeping that in mind Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen has caught our attention as she seems like a potential candidate to represent the country at Miss Universe stage in future.
Nguyen is 24-years-old and stands 173 cm tall and graduated in Business Administration from Stamford Raffles University, Singapore. However, very few people know that in order to achieve a valuable degree abroad, the diva had to go through a difficult journey. Born in a poor family, Kim's luggage to Singapore was only 200 million VND, which was collected by her parents from the sale of land and foreign language capital at number 0.
The diva worked hard and aspired to be a beauty queen and participated in the Vietnam Ao Dai Flower Contest 2014 and was placed at the top 12 at the end of the event finale. She then participated at Miss Vietnam 2016 where she was placed at top 30 and then she participated at Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 where she was adjudged as the first runner-up at the end of the event finale. She was highly appreciated for her performance at the competition but she couldn’t win the title. The diva returned to Vietnam in 2019 and focused on improving her skills, taking part in a program to train herself for the future pageant. She focused on preparing herself for the competition and took parts in regional beauty pageants and that pushed her to participate in the upcoming beauty pageants like the Miss Universe Vietnam 2019.
During her stint at Miss Universe Vietnam 2019, Kim Duyen impressed everyone with the answer "I believe that Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 is looking for a girl who is not only beautiful, smart but also brave, with heart. I am here to let my ideal wish be fulfilled, helping the children go to school, helping people living with HIV. "
Kim is also the co-founder of the "Spread of Love" fund and accompanying the implementation of the project "With Me to School", that is responsible for giving backpacks, books, and small fruits to add love to the children before entering the new school year. After winning as the first runner-up at Miss Universe Vietnam 2019, the beauty said she will not forget her promises. Responding to the media after the contest, the beauty said: “Actually, in the behavior section, I say my goals and I dare to be proud that I have been and will be implementing projects there.” She revealed that she will spend a part of the prize won to give to disadvantaged children in Bao Loc (Lam Dong). The rest was donated by this runner to her hometown of Can Tho.
Kim is known for her confident demeanor; seductive charisma and she has the advantage of speaking fluent English. When she was asked that why she wants to participate at Miss Universe Vietnam stage, she stated, “I want to bring the first Miss Universe crown to Can Tho. Up to now, no one has done such a great thing, I hope I will make the West proud.” She also added that she is young and have the right to have ambitions and aspirations, but it is all based on reality. After many ups and downs in life, struggles and experiences in beauty contests, she believed that she belongs to the stage.
The diva worked hard on improving my foreign language and to accumulate knowledge to live for the future. She proudly says, “From someone who only speaks English with my name, I have been able to communicate smoothly and confidently stand in front of foreign friends, confidently overcoming all difficulties and challenges in life.” She mentioned that her participation at Miss Vietnam 2016 and Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 has helped her to meet some of the best delegates who had helped her to stay confident and strong throughout. Kim seems like a fierce candidate who can represent Vietnam at Miss Universe stage in future is she decides to participate.
