At the splendid finale of Miss Universe Paraguay 2016 held on 1st October 2016 at the AWA Resort in Encarnacion, 22 years old Andrea Melgarejo from Guaira was crowned as the winner. Andrea succeeds Miss Universe Paraguay 2015 Myriam Arevalos, and will now represent the country at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

Standing tall at an astounding height of 180cm, Andrea is not new to the pageant and represented her country at Miss Earth 2015 pageant held in Vienna, Austria. At the same pageant, Tatiana Rolin was crowned Miss International Paraguay 2016. Tatiana represented her country in Face of Beauty 2014 in Taiwan. Viviana Florentin was crowned Miss Supranational Paraguay 2016, Marta Díaz was crowned Miss Pacific Paraguay 2016 and Laura Notario was titled Miss Bikini Paraguay 2016.
Johana Leiva was adjudged first runner-up and Lucía Maciel was titled second runner-up and Kathia Martinez made it to the third runner-up.
In addition to announcing the winners and runners-up, a series of Special Awards were also given to the following contestants under the category –
Miss Top Model - Marta Diaz
Best National Costume - Andrea Melgarejo
Best Body - Andrea Melgarejo
