On the eve of Saturday, the 24 contestants of Miss Venezuela 2015 were introduced to the press and received their sashes to their respective state representation. As we know, Venezuela has 23 states and 1 Distrito Capital. So it was obvious that the 24 sashes were to be give to the 23 states and one DC. However, this did not happen and the Miss Venezuela Organisation instead, gave a Costa oriental sash to a contestant from the state of Zulia.
This ignited a hullabaloo among the Venezuelans who felt that the Delta Amacuro state was once again ignored. The crowd demanded the representation of the state. Seeing that there is so much rage and anger among the people, the president of the Miss Venezuela organisation, Osmel Sousa, introduced a new contestant. And hence there are a total of 25 contestants this year at the Miss Venezuela 2015 pageant. The 25th contestant for the Miss Venezuela 2015 pageant is Melany Mille. Melany will represent the state of Delta Amacuro at the national pageant.
Miss Venezuela 2015 will be held on October 8, 2015 in Caracas. The winner will represent her country at Miss Universe 2016. Mariana Jimenez will crown her successor at the end of the event. And at the same event, Edymar Martínez and Maira Rodríguez will crown their successors as Miss Venezuela International and as Miss Venezuela Earth respectively.
