Miss Venezuela 2022, 69th edition of the national pageant, was held on 16th November 2022 where Diana Silva, representing Distrito Capital, was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Venezuela 2021 Amanda Dudamel and will represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2023.
Diana is 25 years of age and a part of the cabin crew by profession. She is also an advertising student. At the finale, Silva revealed in the round of questions that she had doubts about participating in the contest due to a ‘very uncomfortable and very sad situation’ which she didn’t reveal any further details of. She added, however, that these bad experiences are what "drive you to fulfill your dreams and today I am completely satisfied and grateful for everything I have learned."
Diana considers herself as a dedicated, focused and responsible woman. Her hidden talent includes acting as she started doing theatre at university where she easily combined with art Diana has been part of different social activities with various non-profit organizations. Through her reign, Diana wants to create an initiative (Friends of the Elderly Initiative) where they would put it on the agenda and develop actions that respond to the problems and potentialities of old age.
On being asked what being a beauty queen means to her, Diana quotes, “For me, a beauty queen in this new era goes beyond what can be seen externally. We have to be aware of the responsibility that being an image to follow in society implies... I think that the most positive thing I can offer all those people who follow us is that they seek a better version of themselves. In recent years I have learned to find myself, know myself, accept myself and love myself without so many social canons to fit in. I believe that the greatest virtue that any human being can have is self-love. And I have shown that in this long road. Today they would see a Miss Venezuela who found a great path towards self-love where the external becomes beauty when the internal is rich in love.”
Diana Silva, through her strong advocacy, her stunning beauty and charming personality, has now become a strong contender for the esteemed crown of Miss Universe. Diana will compete at the next edition of Miss Universe.
