The finale of Miss West Virginia USA 2022 was held on 5th June 2022 at the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts where Krystian Leonard was crowned the new queen. She will represent West Virginia at Miss USA 2022.
Krystian Leonard is a compassionate, hardworking, and dedicated individual focused on improving the lives of those with physical and emotional scars. She spreads her message of “finding Strength and building Character for Self-Acceptance to Rise above the Stigma” through her published children’s book Shining SCARS as well as her non-profit organization Shining S.C.A.R.S. Inc.
Krystian started her journey into pageantry at 14 years old and has continuously used her drive and perseverance to become Miss West Virginia USA 2022. She is also the lead actress in the film, Break Every Chain, based on the true story of first responder, Jonathan Hickory.
Krystian has also co-authored award-winning books, given a TEDx talk, and received The Diana Award, ‘For outstanding young people selflessly creating and sustaining positive social change in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales’.
Also at the finale, Emma Kitchen was crowned Miss West Virginia Teen USA 2022 as she became the official representative of West Virginia at Miss Teen USA 2022.
Krystian Leonard succeeds and was crowned by Miss West Virginia USA 2021 Alexis Bland represented West Virginia at Miss USA 2021 but unfortunately failed to place in top 16.
