In one of the recent interviews, Megan who is under Arnold's ALV Talent Circuit said, “What’s great now is that I’m actually under ALV's talent wing. So I’m under contract with ALV talents. And it’s really a plus factor na siya na yung (that he's) national director ng Miss World Philippines. So, I also have a friend who is also in charge of operations of that and it’s been so great, kasi all of us are passionate about it.”
She further added, "I’m really there to look out for the girls'... best interest, because sometimes you want a good show. You want great sponsors or whatnot. So my job is to make sure that, okay, what do the girls need? I was in their position [before]. So I know these are the things the girls need."
Looks like Megan is really excited about the Miss World Philippines pageant this year, and the beauty offered to help out both the contestants and the organisation in whatever way they want to be helped. Megan added that she if she could be of any help, she would be that voice for the girls, and be there for them as a friend who could help them out in their queries.
“I don’t really consider myself a mentor. I’ve only been Miss World for a couple years back, so I want... to establish myself more and prove myself more. But I can definitely say that I’ll be there for them, if they have any questions, any inquiries about Miss World," she said.
The franchise of Miss World in Philippines has travelled from time to time. The Miss Republic of the Philippines was the first national pageant that selected Philippine’s representatives to the Miss World, between 1966 to 1976. In 1977, the franchise went on to the Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant, and was with the said organisation till 1991. Quirino has been great with producing some amazing Miss World Philippines winners. Under Quirino, Philippines earned its first victory at the Miss World pageant when Megan Young was crowned as the winner in the year 2013. Between 2011 to 2016 has been the honeymoon period for Quirino at Miss World Philippines, as, this was the time period when the country was recognised in the Miss World stage.
