Miss World 2021 Top 40: Nene Mariama Saran Bah representing Guinea

Miss World 2021, the 70th edition of Miss World, will be held on 16th March 2022 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In a recent announcement made by the Miss World organization, Top 40 delegates were selected to enter the final leg of the competition.

In a series of features, here are the forty delegates, in no particular order, (15 from the fast-track competitions and 25 through judges’ choice) who will fly to Puerto Rico for the coronation night. Nene Mariama Saran Bah representing Guinea has secured a spot in Top 40 by being one of the judges’ choice winners.

 

 

Nene Mariama Saran Bah was named Miss Monde Guinée (World Guinea) 2021 in October 2021. Guinea is making a comeback at Miss World after 2017. Nene Bah is 26 years of age and stands 179 cm tall. Nene is an accountant, model and author who has shown tremendous potential at the competition.

Nene is an activist for Gender Equality and an advocate for mental health and education. One of her ambitions is to be a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and work for the betterment of people. Nene did all her pre-university studies at the Saint Georges private high school of excellence, from kindergarten to obtaining her baccalaureate. Upon obtaining her baccalaureate at the end of 2012, she went to Canada where she began her university studies in compatibility at the University of Moncton in the province of New Brunswick in early 2013.

Not new to the pageantry, in August 2014, she participated in the Miss Guinea Canada competition held on 31st August 2014 in Montreal and she won her fourth crown at 19 years old. Nene was second runner-up in Miss Guinea 2019.

 

 

In 2014, Nene led awareness campaigns against Ebola disease, holding discussion and awareness panels against genital mutilation and violence against women with associations such as RAFIQ. In 2018, she traveled to China where she worked in the field for two months in collaboration with a local organization on a humanitarian project on education.

In 2019, she created her NGO ‘Unity In Diversity’ which works to improve living conditions in the school environment. The stunning beauty is also the godmother of an NGO called Children Need Help working to support disadvantaged and orphaned children in through donations of material goods, activities to entertain children, share meals, create human contact, or even care and medical support for sick children, including those with cancer.

If Nene wins, she will pioneer her country’s win at Miss World. With her strong activism, her beauty and her sincerity, the stunning African beauty will definitely make a strong mark at the international pageant.
