Miss World 2021 Top 40: Shudufhadzo Musida representing South Africa

Miss World 2021, 70th edition of Miss World, will be held on 16th March 2022 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In a recent announcement made by the Miss World organization, Top 40 delegates were selected to enter the final leg of the competition.

In a series of features, here are the forty delegates, in no particular order, (15 from the fast-track competitions and 25 through judges’ choice) who will fly to Puerto Rico for the coronation night. Shudufhadzo Musida representing South Africa has made it to Top 40 by being one of the winners of Beauty with a Purpose.

 

 

Taking to her official social media Musida wrote, “I am so humbled to announce that I have made it to the Miss World Top 40. Going into this my biggest driver was beauty with a purpose and to have my project chosen as one of the winners is such an honour, but to have met the human embodiments of beauty with a purpose in the other contestants just made the journey that much more fulfilling.”

“So to my fellow Miss World sisters thank you for sharing your hearts with me and the world. To my beautiful South Africa, Ndo livhuwa, it takes a village and it is our stories and your support that have led me to this point. To my Miss World family, thank you. I am so excited to be returning to Puerto Rico in March”, she added.

 

 

Musida became the first bald woman to win Miss South Africa. She studied at the University of Pretoria where she earned a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Musida is a dedicated advocate and spokeswoman for mental health awareness and empowering women and children. She is also a published author who uses her voice to create a strong influence amongst the people.

Musida has given quite a stellar performance through the competition. She outshined at the Top Model fast-track challenge and even showed her oratory skills at the Head-to-Head challenge. With her beauty, her courage and determination, Musida will be a strong competition at Miss World. The last time South Africa won Miss World was in 2014 when Rolene Strauss was crowned the new queen.
