Miss World 2021, 70th edition of Miss World, will be held on 16th March 2022 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In a recent announcement made by the Miss World organization, Top 40 delegates were selected to enter the final leg of the competition.

In a series of features, here are the forty delegates, in no particular order, (15 from the fast-track competitions and 25 through judges’ choice) who will fly to Puerto Rico for the coronation night.

Tracy Maureen Perez representing Philippines has gained a spot in Top 40 by winning Head-to-Head and Beauty with a Purpose challenges at the fast-track competitions. The stunning Filipina beauty is already a role model in her country helping people through her efforts.

After taking a little time off and now again getting ready for the finals, Tracy took to her official social media as she wrote, “Grateful for the time off — to be able to disconnect and appreciate the gift of serenity; to better understand myself, the people around me, and the ever-changing situations we are all in; and to recharge and to fight the silent battles with faith and hope for the future. Can’t wait to catch up again with everyone especially to my family and to my closest friends and colleagues, missed all of you. Let’s all work hard together to rebuild, recover, and triumph over anything that may come our way.”

Born prematurely to a single mother in Cebu city in 1993, Tracy has always shown immense courage and dedication in her life. Her mother Chona Asibal Perez, an inspiration, is also a former beauty queen (Binibining Cebu finalist and Binibining Pilipinas 1979 candidate). She was originally from Bayugan, Agusan del Sur in Mindanao but later moved to Cebu.

Not new to the pageant world, Tracy joined Miss World Philippines 2019 as her first national pageant and placed in to the top 12 at the end of the finale. Perez competed in the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant where she placed at Top 16. Following year, in 2021, she tried her luck again at Miss World Philippines 2021 which she won and won the right to represent Philippines at Miss World 2021.

Tracy also revealed she will be wearing a national costume inspired by the goddess Mayari, for the Dances of the World segment on finals night. Mayari, in Philippine mythology, is the ruler of the moon and the most beautiful deity in the celestial court. Tracy is surely a strong contender for the international crown and if she wins, she will become the second Filipina, after Megan Young, to win the coveted Miss World crown.
