Miss World Australia 2018 hosted its coronation night on 31st August 2018 at Palazzo Versace, Queensland where thirty gorgeous ladies competed for the national title and the opportunity to represent Australia in the upcoming Miss World 2018. Esma Voloder, the reigning Miss World Australia, crowned her successor at the end of the event finale.
The contestants competing for the title are Alexandra Wallace, Emily Said, Claudia Curac, Elice Jayne Craig, Lavinia White, Lilly Kirkby, Samara Welbourne, Shelby Harasymenko, La Ace De Vries, Emma Peterson, Christy Taylor, Catherina Jorgensen, Yasmin Ildes, Aliandra Calabrese, Taylah Cannon, Alison Williams, Holly Mae Stearnes, Magda Gamar, Vanessa Ong, Nyadier Apech, Joanne Longland, Huda Omar, Maria Esipova, Marielle Intveld, Lucinda Nicholas, Sophie Budack, Helena Sauzier, Georgia Dewstow-Smith, Emma Trezise and Jenayah Elliott.

Australia has won the coveted Miss World crown twice in its history; Penelope Plummer pioneered the country’s win in Miss World in 1968 while Belinda Green again brought the crown home in 1972. After that, Australia has not won the Miss World crown. Miss World Australia 2017 Esma Voloder represented her country in Miss World 2017 but unfortunately failed to secure a place in the Top 20.
