Elise-Gayonne Vernon was crowned Miss World Belize 2022 at the finale held at the Ramada Princess Hotel poolside event in Belize City. She will now represent Belize at the next edition of Miss World pageant. Elise-Gayonne Vernon succeeds and was crowned by her predecessor Markeisha Young.

Elise-Gayonne Vernon is 21 years of age and hails from Biscayne Village in the Belize District. Elise is a young farmer and a certified beekeeper. Elise’s goal is to inspire others who also wants to engage in feeding programs. She explained that such a project would involve small farming communities joining forces to help provide for those in need.

On winning the crown, Elise took to her official social media to thank everyone as she wrote, “Thank you to everyone who played a significant part in my pageant journey. I could not have done this without your support! I wouldn't be here without the support of my mother, my family, my friends, my community, and my sponsors. Thank you to the ILS Phoenix Foundation for giving me this opportunity!”

Six contestants competed for the Miss World Belize 2022 crown - Elise-Gayonne Vernon, Tori Chaplin, Paris Cawich, Shante Morgan, Veronica Ruano, and Babee Lopez. Tori Chaplin was adjudged as the first runner-up at the end of the event finale. She will take the place of the crowned Miss World Belize in case Elise cannot continue with her duties.

Miss World Belize 2022 event also saw the appointment of Belize’s first-ever Miss Global. Paris Cawich was adjudged Miss Global Belize 2022 who will represent Belize at the upcoming pageant in Vietnam in 2023.
