Former Miss World Brazil Mariana Notarângelo has graduated in medicine. The Brazilian beauty recently received her diploma in Medicine. During the event, she said that the Miss World pageant played an important role in her decision to specialise in Dermatology as she had already worked really hard on her fight against leprosy in Brazil, as her Beauty with a Purpose project.

Now that the beauty has officially moved a step closer to her dream, she wants to keep helping people with leprosy and other skin diseases. Mariana gained instant popularity after winning the Miss World Brazil 2012 title, and placing fifth at the Miss World 2012 pageant. She was also crowned as the winner of Rainha Internacional do Café 2010.

Due to her excellent performance in the Rainha Internacional do Café 2010, Notarangelo was invited again by the Miss Mundo Brasil Organisation to compete in the Global Beauty Queen 2011. Accepting the offer, she became the new Global Beauty Queen Brazil. Mariana successfully conquered her second international victory. She defeated more than fifty countries that competed for the crown in South Korea on May 10 of the same year.

It’s amazing to see the former beauties excelling in their career and making it big. Recently, former Miss World Kaiane Aldorino has been appointed as the mayor of Gibraltar. The beauty queen was recently honoured by the outgoing mayor Adolfo Canepa and Chief Minister Fabian Picardo at an investiture ceremony at City Hall. The former beauty queen said that she feels honoured after becoming the Gibraltar’s youngest ever mayor.

Miss World beauty pageant is no longer just a beauty pageant, it has emerged as a platform for young women from across the globe to showcase their talent, intelligence and work towards a greater good. Miss World pageant provides these contestants to display their culture and raise awareness towards various humanitarian causes, every year the pageant raises millions of pounds for charitable work under the banner of “Beauty with a Purpose” program.
