Lucía Heredia will be representing the Autonomous City of Ceuta at the national gala of Miss World Spain 2020. She was crowned Miss World Ceuta 2020 on 4th September 2019. Lucía Heredia is 23-years-old and stands 171 cm tall. She is obtaining a degree of Nursing Assistant and currently works as a nail tech and also studies personal decorative image.
Making history, Lucia became the first transsexual contestant to win the title from her state. She is passionate about fashion and makeup and loves to make YouTube videos about it. The first transsexual woman to take part in an event after Miss Universe Spain 2018 Angela Ponce Camacho, Lucía Heredia stated that she took part in the competition ‘by chance’. She exclaimed, "The local delegates proposed it to me but I entered the last ones. I have always liked the world of modelling and I wanted to take this step to show that anyone regardless of gender, sex or age can do very big things."
She credits her winning to her parents who have always supported her and always motivated her to follow what her heart says. She has already started to work towards the national pageant where she wants to represent Spain. Lucía Heredia also supports and wants to raise awareness about Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects many parts of the body and has been described as “elfin”. She wants everyone to come together and support the people who are suffering and dealing with the syndrome and raise awareness about it.
Lucía also wants to give visibility to another fact which is normalcy of a transsexual girl attending a beauty contest and winning it. She explains that she feels very honoured to be representing Ceuta at Miss World Spain 2020; "I am still in a cloud and I am very proud of all the support they are giving me to whom I can only say one word: thank you”, the diva stated.
Lucía Heredia feels that since she is the first in this field, it makes her more responsible and dedicated towards her goal of winning the title. She wants to encourage more transsexual to sign up for the competition and she would love to help anyone who asks.
The 23-year-old diva clearly stated that "I am going to win the national contest; with this I want to make people discriminate a little less and to thank everyone who has supported me. I feel very wrapped up." With her focus, positive energy and dedication, Lucía Heredia is one of the strongest contenders for the title. If she follows in the footsteps of Angela Ponce, she will definitely be a strong contender and a source of inspiration for countless women across the world.
