At the conclusion of the grand finale of Miss World Egypt 2017 held on Sunday night at Misr Opera House Theatre in Giza, Egypt, Farah Shaaban was adjudged the winner and was crowned Miss World Egypt 2017. She bested twenty-two other candidates vying for the title and privilege to represent Egypt in Miss World 2017 pageant to be held in China later this year. She succeeds Miss World Egypt 2016 Nadine Ossama, who was Egypt's representative for Miss World 2016.

Farah is 22 years of age, and has graduated high school with an American diploma. She is currently pursuing computer science at the British University in Egypt. Her hobbies are swimming, reading and acting.

Her court included Hadeer Tariq (first runner-up), Merna Ayman Hosny (second runner-up), Floraine Ashraf (third runner-up), Farrah Ahmed Kamal (fourth runner-up) and Hadeer Khalel (fifth runner-up).

Egypt was the first African nation to win the Miss World competition, when Antigone Costanda was crowned Miss World 1954 at the fourth edition of Miss World pageant. Sixty-three years have passed by since then, and Egypt is waiting for its second Miss World title.

Can Farah realise that dream?
