Samantha Todivelou Rodriguez will represent Madagascar at the Miss World 2016 pageant

Samantha Todivelou Rodriguez who was crowned Miss Madagascar 2016 on December 20’ 2015 at the Hotel Colbert, will now represent Madagascar at the Miss World 2016 pageant. Samantha Todivelou Rodriguez succeeds Christina Ranto Harisoa and now hopes to get crowned by the reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna as the next Miss World.

Madagascar last participated at the Miss World pageant in the year 2001, and after 15 years of absence, the new Comite Miss Madagascar has acquired the license of Miss World. Founded in 1960 as part of the festivities of the country’s independence from France, Miss Madagascar sends representatives to Miss World beauty pageant.

The first representative of Madagascar at Miss World was Rajaobelina Bedovoahangy in the year 1960. Miss Madagascar is the oldest and only official national beauty contest of Madagascar organized in association with Ministry of Tourism and Culture and Office of the First Lady.
