Miss World Malaysia 2021 to be held virtually in October 2021

The Miss World Malaysia pageant for the year 2021 is all set to be held on 16th October, 2021. This edition will be the first time that the oageant will be held virtually, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the increasing cases of Covid-19, the Malaysian government has been extending lockdowns and restrictive measures in almost every two weeks.

Malaysia has been one of the biggest achieving countries in the Miss World pageant, with a total of 9 placements over the past few decades. The current titleholder of Miss World Malaysia is Alexis SueAnn of Kuala Lumpur. She represented Malaysia at Miss World 2019 in London, United Kingdom and placed as one of the Top 40 quarter-finalist and will now crown her successor.

The Miss World Organization had announced a few months ago that the 70th edition of Miss World i.e., Miss World 2021 will be held on 16th December 2021 in Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan. Due to the pandemic, Miss World organization cancelled the 2020 edition last year. Thus, the reigning queen Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will crown her successor at the 2021 edition.

This year’s edition will see more than 100 candidates from different parts of the world compete for the coveted crown in Puerto Rico, which will be the first Latin American country to host Miss World. Many countries have already begun the process to select their representatives for the pageant, while others have already appointed their delegates and are preparing for the journey ahead.

Francisso Lopez will be the stage producer for the final show and has promised 'the most exciting and breathtaking Miss World Final show in its 70 year history'. Miss World 2021 will begin on 21st November 2021 and will go on till 16th December 2021. Tickets for the finale are expected to go on sale from September 17th.
