Miss Nepal 2018 concluded with a grand ceremony on 11th April 2018. The newly crowned queens emitted a glow that is only seen when a girl wears a crown that she rightfully won after a long journey. The grand event took place at Hotel Annapurna in Kathmandu.

The glamorous night ended with the crowning of Shrinkhala Khatiwada as the Miss Nepal 2018.

Miss World Nepal 2017 Nikita Chandak passed on her crown to the gorgeous Miss World Nepal 2018 Shrinkhala Khatiwada. Shrinkhala will now represent Nepal at the 2018 Miss World pageant where Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar will crown her successor. The Miss Universe 2018 crown was won by Manita Devkota, and she was crowned by Miss Universe Nepal 2017 Nagma Shrestha. Miss Earth Nepal 2017 Rojina Shrestha also passed on her crown to Miss Earth Nepal 2018 Priya Sigdel. Miss International Nepal 2018 Ronali Amatya received her crown from predecessor Miss International Nepal 2017 Niti Shah.

For her talent round, Shrinkhala had picked up a rather touching subject. She performed a spoken word poetry, "I was 9 years old, when I sold my nudity, to a man 10 years older, for some yellow candies.."

She tried to convey the message and express how a child's innocence is used against her. The consequences of that unfortunate event in her adult life and how she gets over it through self-realisation. She used colours to describe her sad memories and how at the end, she realises that those colours made her and that these colours are beautiful. In the end, as she accepts her past and herself, she realises that she is, in fact, a Rainbow.

It is important to mention how Shrinkhala has remained quite unabashed, and forthcoming throughout the competition. She has portrayed herself to be a girl with an immense love for her nation, and fellow Nepalis, but also the touch of reality, and the real problems her country folk are facing. And that is why Shrinkhala had made it to our Top 10 personal favourites.

She outright called her nation’s bureaucracy corrupt during the question answer round. Shrinkhala Khatiwada bagged the title of Beautiful Hair as well.

Srinkhala seems like a good choice on the part of the jurors, to represent Nepal at the Miss World 2018 stage.
