Miss World New Zealand 2018 date and venue announced

Miss World New Zealand has started with its 47th instalment, and the excitement amongst fans is unbelievable. Miss World New Zealand 2017 Annie Evans will be passing on her crown to one lucky lady, who will get to represent New Zealand, and who knows maybe even win, at Miss World 2018 where Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar will crown her successor.

The date and venue for the highly awaited gala night of Miss World New Zealand 2018 have been declared, and you might want to lock in your dates for the same.

The website of Miss World New Zealand announced that the finale would be held Saturday, 5th MAY 2018 at Sky City Convention Centre. Challenges winners, subsidiary titles & special awards will be awarded on the gala night itself. The winners and subsidiary titles will include, the crowning of Miss NEW ZEALAND 2018, Runners Up, and other National Titles,

According to the official website, preliminary Judging will take place one month prior to the final competition. The first official meeting & orientation were held in February 2018, Henderson North School, 14 Norval Rd. Henderson.

To be a part of the competition, the girls needed to qualify for the conditions mentioned below.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a New Zealand Citizen or application for citizenship has been lodged

Must have a valid New Zealand Passport with more than six months validity upon the return date, at the time of travelling overseas

Natural born female

Unmarried, neither having been married, nor given birth.

Should be within the age range of 17-25 years old during her reigning year

Has beauty of face, figure and personality

Good moral character & good health to meet the demands of the job requirements

Familiar with social, economic and political issues, both on a National and International level

Have knowledge of the culture and values of New Zealand

Has adopted or be willing to adopt a charity or community support organisation

Completed at least 6th Form (Year 12) secondary education

New Zealand has contested 46 Miss World pageants since the pageant's inception in 1951. No New Zealander has won the Miss World title, although two have placed first runner-up.

The current reigning Miss World New Zealand 2017 Annie Evans placed in the Top 40 at Miss World 2018, Top 20 at Beauty with a Purpose, and Top 24 at Miss World Sport. She won the title of Miss Oceania.
