This is truly apt for the newly crowned Puteri Indonesia 2018 Sonia Fergina Citra who played the perfect underdog in the competition from the beginning but never failed to shine a little more each day. And now that her efforts and hard work has paid her off with this euphoric win, Sonia is on cloud nine.
This 25-year-old beauty queen stands tall at a noticeable height of 177 cm and seems to be the perfect candidate for the crown of Miss Universe, with her subtle elegant nature, beautiful smile and a tint of innocence that gives her an edge amongst all. This was proved well when this British literature student who was born in Tanjung Pandan and is from Bangka Belitung was able to answer the jury questions well and also the last question asked by Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel Peters very well, with a straightforwardness and also a touch of emotions in her impeccable English speaking skills.
In the answers, she described her relationship with her mother and won hearts collectively.

Sonia Fergina Citra has many achievements including Faces of Youth Model of Babel 2005 (2nd position), Champion III Faces of Youth Model Jakarta 2005, winner of Model Atrium Mall in Style 2005 Jakarta, Dara I Dayang Belitung 2007, and Tourism Babylon 2010. She received a photogenic award at Dayang Babel 2007 along with being Top 10 of Putri Pariwisata Indonesia 2010 and Top 10 of Miss Oriental Tourism 2012.
Sports Champion
Despite having a beautiful face, Sonia has a martial arts hobby like Muay Thai, Taekwondo and Capoeira. In fact, she is the ambassador of Taekwondo in Bangka Belitung Province since 2012. She has been training in Taekwondo since grade 3. Well, we know not to mess with this pretty strong lady!
An introvert person by nature
This queen calls herself an introvert and a shy personality in life. She, in fact, recalled how she was very anxious and awkward while applying for Puteri Indonesia because it had been long since she last participated in a beauty pageant and so, she wasn’t sure if she could match up to the current trends and changes in the pageantry world. Well, shy or not, she definitely rocked the stage of Puteri Indonesia and came out triumphed.
A true social activist at heart
She is active in various social causes associated with the organization “Diberi Untuk Memberi.” Sonia helps in providing free food to janitors, school renovation and education assistance, and she is also involved in environmental conservation activities related coral reef adoption at Tanjung Kelayang beach, Belitung.
Her humbleness sees no bounds
