The Miss World Organisation is busy touring South Africa as part of their “Stop Hunger Now” program. The campaign is all about highlighting Stop Hunger Now’s Mandela Month Campaign and an action-packed schedule of plentiful activities and events. The organisation along with its volunteers (Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World Australia 2016 Madeline Cowe, Miss World Kenya 2016, Evelyn Njambi, , Miss World Belgium 2016, Lenty Frans, Miss World Indonesia 2015, Maria Harfanti, Miss World Caribbean Yaritza Reyes, Miss World US 2016 Audra Mari and Mr World 2016 Rohit Khandelwal) is participating in the activities to make the event successful. Let us throw some light on the activities so far.
One of the highlights of the tour was that Miss World Organisation owner Julia Morley announced that BWAP will sponsor a bus travel to and from school for all the children in Mveso area which covers a community of 20,000 people. Chief Mandela had told of his sadness that the children had no bus to take them to school meaning that many either missed school or faced extremely long walks in extreme temperatures to reach it. Julia Morley immediately offered to fund a daily bus service for the children. The announcement was received with great joy by children and parents alike. "It is our responsibility to give all children nutrition and education," said Julia. "It makes it all the more worthwhile when you are here to see the results."
A great initiative surely needs encouragement and support from the people to eradicate the problem of hunger from the world. Well, the event has been going on a great pace. Stop Hunger Now is an international organisation that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid worldwide. Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa (SHN SA) operates in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
