The organization of Miss World Philippines will soon host the coronation ceremony for Miss World Philippines 2020/2021 where the delegates from all over the country will compete for the national crowns and a chance to represent the Philippines at international competitions. The first screening for the competition was held on 3rd February 2021 at the Red Hotel Philippines where delegates appeared in front of the judges to showcase their potential.

With a list of delegates being prepared and since the registration is still going on, Joy Barcoma is one of the divas who has caught everyone’s attention for the title as she seems potential and showcases immense dedication and determination towards representing the Philippines at the international competition. She impressed the panel jury with her confidence and determination to win.

Joy is 21-years-old and stands 166 cm tall. She started providing herself a financial backing at a very young age and started working as an Executive Assistant for two different companies and as a freelance model while studying in college.

Joy’s colleagues pushed and supported her towards her journey in the world of beauty pageants and she was able to win the college title making her the representative for the university competition. She then won another crown as the Miss Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges 2017 and competed for regional and national university pageant- making her the second national queen of her university and her region after 14 years. She is preparing to study law and represent her country at international competition.

The beauty queen wants to handle the pro bono cases of the poor, needy and the underprivileged people because she deeply connects with them and feels that if she has a platform then she’d use it to make things around her a little better than they are or were. She is strong, beautiful, and confident about herself and if she gets selected, she could be a strong contender at Miss World Philippines 2020/2021.

During Miss PASUC 2017 finale, Barcoma was asked how she would promote culture and the arts, to which she answered, “I think, the very first thing that I will do to promote culture and arts is to embody it because if you embody something, you would be able to impart it to other people, you would be able to influence them, to inspire them, to educate them. And, I think that through embodying it, you would be able to influence other people to support our local communities, our culture, and love for arts. And, I do believe also that as of today, we may not be as great as any other countries but we can always be the pearl to orient just like what we’ve always been.”

The diva is also a keen advocate for Mental Health and strongly believes that she wants to use the platform to reach out to a massive audience to create awareness and end the stigma circling around mental illness in the community. She has showcased that she loves her country and has the potential to represent the Philippines at international stage and fight for the honour of it. She is hopeful that show has managed to impress the judges and will be selected.
