The organization of Miss World Philippines is all set to host the coronation of Miss World Philippines 2021 on 8th August 2021, where divas from all over the country will compete for the national crown and an opportunity to represent the Philippines at an international competition.

At a recent media event organized by the Taguig Designers Council at La Luna Café in Taguig City on 27th June 2021, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2020 Katrina Llegado revealed that the Miss World Philippines organization will provide the delegates with two doses of Covid-19 vaccines for safety. "If we want to get back to normal, get yourself vaccinated," Katrina said.

The city’s designers called a press conference to present their latest muse, Miss World Philippines 2021 finalist Asha Gutierrez, who represents Taguig in the competition, and Katrina Llegado, who is one of the reigning titleholders. The Reina Hispanoamerican Filipinas queen further stated, "I worked with Asha on this [vaccination program]. And I would like to thank the Taguig local government unit for making it possible. "

Talking further about such a great initiative being taken by the organization, Katrina mentioned that, since the city supports the pageant industry, it will not only provide two COVID-19 doses to each of the national pageant’s candidates this year, but also to the staff, officials, and members of the partner media organizations. This step by the Miss World Philippines organization has been appreciated by everyone across the country.

Taguig City second district Rep. Lani Cayetano, who also graced the event, appreciated Asha Gutierrez for her active support and response to the city’s situation in dealing with the coronavirus. The lawmaker mentioned that the beauty queen’s dedication should be appreciated as she took the time, studied the problem, and then educated everyone about it, which has been helpful for the people of the community to understand the effects of the virus and why vaccination is necessary.

Asha Gutierrez is one of the strongest contenders for the title and is using her platform to not only help and educate people about Covid-19 but also to address incidents of violence against women and children in the city. The Taguig designers, with the support of Cayetano and the Taguig City government, will provide Gutierrez’s competition wardrobe, from auxiliary events to preliminary competitions, all the way to the coronation night.

The beauty queen participated in Miss World Philippines 2019 as well, but couldn’t win, but nothing broke her zeal to represent the Philippines at an international competition. Thus, she decided to return and called winning the crown ‘a dream’. She said she has learned a lot from her previous competition and is even more inspired to highlight her chosen advocacy on the pageant platform.
