Miss World 2023 will be the 71st edition of Miss World, which will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India on 9th March 2024. Miss World 2021 Karolina Bielawska of Poland will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. 

The delegates are preparing for their upcoming stint and most importantly for the ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ project which carries the most weight at Miss World. Lets take a look at the BWAP Project of Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwen Fourniol BWAP – Bridge the Gap, Build the Future. With her advocacy, Gwen would be working hard with different stakeholders to raise funds and gather resources to make the ERDA Learning Hub a reality.

“One of the biggest problems we are facing in the world right now is the lack of fair access to quality education and part of this problem is the large-scale shortfall in infrastructure, teachers, and other learning tools. By building the Learning Hub, and providing opportunities for growth to the community around it, I hope to do my humble part in bridging the gap in education in my own country so that I may be able to help less privileged children build their own bigger and brighter futures in the same way that ERDA did for my mother”, Gwen quoted.

Gwen has also spent time with ERDA Foundation where after weeks of careful planning and coordination, the organization conducted an ocular inspection of the site where they hope to build a Learning Hub for the children of Manila. Located inside the BASECO Compound, the 25 sq. m. lot is to be transformed into a 2-storey building where ERDA students can come to learn.

“As someone who has been closely working with children through ERDA foundation since my mom brought me back to the Philippines, it has always been my dream to do more for the organization that gave the gift of education to my mother which has led her to a better life, not just for her but for me and my siblings”, Gwen wrote.

Gwendolyne Fourniol of Negros Occidental was crowned Miss World Philippines 2022 at the finale held on 5th June 2022. The last time and the only time Philippines won Miss World was in 2013 when Megan Young was crowned Miss World 2013.
