Miss World Philippines 2022 Top 10 Hot Picks

Miss World Philippines 2022, the 11th edition of the Miss World Philippines pageant is all set to be held on 5th June 2022 at the Mall of Asia Artena, where stunning delegates from all over the country will compete for the coveted national crowns and the opportunity to represent Philippines at international beauty pageants.

The reigning queens Tracy Perez, Dindi Pajares, Emmanuelle Vera, and Kathleen Paton will crown their successors at the end of the event finale. The winners will represent the Philippines at the Miss World 2022, Miss Supranational 2022, Miss Eco International 2022, and Reina Hispanoamericana 2022 pageants respectively.

While this year’s batch consists of 36 stunning  ‘Exceptionally Empowered Filipinas’, who are passionate and driven towards the national titles, some divas have emerged as strong stand-outs among the batch and are running as favorites for this year’s competition. So, without any further ado, here are our Top 10 Hot Picks for Miss World Philippines 2022 –

Paula Ortega from Albay

Born and raised in Spain, Paula is a full-blooded Filipino with Bicolana and Ilocano parents. She graduated with a degree in Medical Laboratory Technician and worked as a Laboratory Assistant at Saint Paul Hospital of Barcelona. Later, she decided to pursue Nursing from the University of Barcelona and completed her graduation and is now a certified nurse. She is an advocate of providing the children with free healthcare, proper nutrition and proper education. She is also interested at learning other cultures, traditions and immersing with them is one of her ultimate goals wherever she goes to visit.

Not new to pageantry, Ortega was most recently a delegate at Miss Universe Philippines 2020. She joined a pageant for the first time through Miss Bicolandia 2017. She ended up at 1st Runner Up and had represented the Philippines at the Global Model of the Year 2017 in Portugal, where she was awarded with the Popularity Award.

Currently, in the run for the Miss World Philippines title, Paula Ortega is representing Albay and is one of the finalists for the preliminary competitions including, Beach Beauty, Talent, Beauty with a Purpose and National Costume.

 

 

Justine Felizarta from Marikina City

After an exceptional and highly appreciated performance at Binibining PIlipinas 2021, Justine Felizarta has returned for a national crown with a passion to represent the country internationally. Standing 175 cm tall, Justine is the epitome of intelligence and grace. Not just a beautiful face, Justine is a licensed medical aesthetician and an overseas Filipino worker advocate.

Not new to the pageant world and this not being Justine’s first stint in Binibining Pilipinas, the stunning beauty was a part of Binibining Pilipinas 2015 where she placed in the Top 15 with her stellar performance. Justine, in 2017, then joined Miss Universe Canada 2017 where she placed in Top 10.

At the ongoing pageant, representing Marikina City, Justine is one of the finalists for the Beach Beauty, Beauty with a Purpose and National Costume competition.

 

 

Maria Gigante from Cebu

Representing Cebu, 28 years old Maria Gigante from the Aces and Queens camp is a host and model and earned a degree in Philosopy at the University of San Carlos (USC). According to the diva, the pageantry has changed her perspective towards life and it’s more about affecting a change in the society. She is passionate about charities and making a social impact on the world.

Not new to the pageantry, Maria Gigante was a delegate of Binibining Pilipinas 2016 and was second runner up for the title of Miss Binibining Cebu Charity 2017. At Miss World Philippines 2022, the diva is one of the Top 2 finalists for the Beauty with a Purpose project.

 

 

Cassandra Bermeo Chan from San Juan

Cassandra is a professional ballet dancer and teacher from San Juan City. She graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Visual Communication from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2017. She spent 18 years training as a classical ballet dancer in the ‘Effie Nañas School of Classical Ballet’ and grew up working diligently in her craft. Her passion and dedication for dancing multiplied as she represented the Philippines in various training intensives abroad.

With her talent as a dance teacher, she aims to bring awareness to the physical health of young students and emphasize the importance of physical and mental wellness in children. Not new to pageantry, the diva was crowned Miss Chinatown Philippines 2020 and won the Binibining Pilipinas Talent 2019 title.

Representing San Juan city at the ongoing pageant, Chan is a finalists for the the Beach Beauty and Talent competitions.

 

 

Ashley Subijano Montenegro from Makati

24 year old Ashley is a fashion model and grew up in California before she moved to the Philippines to pursue her modeling career. Ashley comes from a family of pageant queens, as she is the daughter of Miss World 1994 Top 10 Finisher Caroline Subijano. She is a Junior at the Endurun College, pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurship. She opened two businesses in preparation for her internship next year.

Not new to pageantry, the diva was crowned as the first ever Miss Charm Philippines in 2019. Before joining Miss World Philippines, she studied a lot of pageant systems and the Miss World was what resonated with her because of their philanthropic pursuits, as well as in being very vocal with their candidates.

 

 

Gwendolyne Furniol from Negros Occidental

Gwen, the daughter of a French father and a Filipina mother, possesses both the intrinsic Filipina charm and the fiery French spirit. This 21-year old Ilongga beauty is representing Negros Occidental at the ongoing pageant and stresses on education at the core of her Beauty with a Purpose project.

The diva is eyeing the national title because it will give her a wider platform to serve humanity by ensuring the education of marginalized children via the ERDA foundation. At Miss World Philippines 2022, Furniol has been placed as the finalist for the Beauty Beauty and Talent preliminary competitions.

 

 

Ingrid Santamaria from Parañaque City

Ingrid Santamaria or also known as Sam Santamaria is a 25-year-old corporate professional. She graduated from De La Salle University and under her belt is graduating as a cum laude with a degree in Communications. She loves to travel, explore other cultures, and is a certified beach lover. She’s an athlete and a writer. Sam was also able to work in Marketing PR and E-commerce before joining the pageant industry.

Not new to pageantry, Ingrid participated in the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant. At the ongoing Miss World Philippines competition, Ingrid is currently a finalist for the Beach Beauty and National Costume competitions.

 

 

Carla Manuel from Manila

With a dream to become model since her childhood, Carla epitomizes an exceptionally empowered filipina who knows how to serve wholeheartedly and not just be served. Apart from being a commercial and print model or walking down the runway, the diva is immensely grateful for the privilege of working with her church as a ministry leader, which has enabled her to see the world through the lens of compassion.

Manuel has been one of the dark horse delegates for the competition this year being naturally beautiful, smart and charming.  She definitely has the makings of a star that the Miss World Organization is looking for.

 

 

Alison Black from Las Piñas City

Alison Black is the embodiment of a modern Queen who’s outspoken, confident and facially beautiful. She has been an academic scholar, award-winning dancer and an entrepreneur. The diva is a ballet school owner and teacher, and has found her purpose in the same. She feels the most empowered when she can bring out the best in other people.

She is dedicated to encouraging women, children and the world to overcome doubts, break barriers and discover their own power. At the ongoing pageant, the diva is representing Las Pinas city and is one of the finalists for preliminary competitions including Sports Challenge, Beach Beauty and Talent competitions.

 

 

Simone Bornilla from Marinduque

19 year old Simone Bornilla is a force to be reckoned with. Bornilla is a freshman at De La Salle University taking up BS Medical Biology to pursue her dreams in becoming a doctor. Simone has been emerging as a strong contender even though being one of the youngest amongst the batch.

She is not new to pageantry as she has already competed in Miss Philippine Youth 2018 where she eventually won the title and proceeded to be Miss Teen International 2018 and won the continental title of Miss Teen International – Asia and Oceania, at the end of the event.

She is strong, hardworking and determined to make her people and her province proud and is rising towards the coveted crown in full swing.
